The Puppet Makers

It’s the start of the Memorial Day weekend here in the US, which means a long weekend (yay) and the unofficial start of summer (boo). To get things kicked off, I’d like to start the weekend by presenting you all with an outstanding Steampunk Rococo webcomic, The Puppet Makers by Molly Crabapple and John Leavitt, on Zuda Comics.

The artwork for the Puppet Makers is truly impressive. I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen a Steampunk and Rococo mash up, and I’m surprised to say that I feel as if it works. It doesn’t seem too far from either inspiration source to be excessively bizarre, just intriguing.

And just as a heads up, this upcoming week may be a bit spotty with the updates. I’m busy making the last minute preparations to attend A-Kon this weekend, so no promises for a daily update for the next two weeks, though I will try my hardest. My compatriot and I will give you full reports from the days at A-Kon (including photos) in the aftermath of the event, since I will not have internet access at the convention itself.

Have a great Memorial Day weekend, and happy webcomic reading!
