Iron Man is catching the attention of Steampunks everywhere, and it’s not because of the recent DVD release of Iron Man II. What has the community in a buzz is the Iron Man costume worn at the New York ComicCon that won first place at Marvel’s costume contest.
It’s Iron Man with a definitive Steam-Driven twist. And, wow, is it well done.
Unfortunately, we don’t know anything about the creator or the process taken to create such and incredible costume from the people who ran the contest. I did, however, run across a rumor that the man behind the suit is Matt Silva, a key designer for the suit in Heartless: The Story of the Tin Man, a Steampunk retelling of the Tin Man’s life before Dorothy. According to the rumor, the suit was modified remake of the tin-man suit for the Con. If it’s true, that’s awesome!
