Free Spirit

The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing is one of my favorite Steampunk bands. They do an amazing job of combining Steam and Punk in philosophy and sound into an amalgamation that creates some kick-ass music. When people ask me about Steampunk music and are expecting to hear more of the traditional punk aspects in our Victorian influenced world, this is the first band to which I direct them.

A while back, The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing released wax cylinders of their first album, Now That’s What I Call Steampunk! last year, and they’ve determined to do it again. The single is entitled Free Spirit, and the wax cylinders will be available for purchase on their website. You can listen to it below:

Fans of The Men should take particular note that Free Spirit will not be released in any other format save the wax cylinders and an MP3 that comes with the purchase of the cylinder itself. So, if you want to own this song, you’re going to have to buy the cylinder! You can pick up one of 50 cylinders by going here, to their online store.

If you happen to be unfamiliar with The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing, you can learn more about themhrough their MySpace and Facebook page. You can also check out this brief clip of an interview they did before one of their performances at Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
