A few days ago I posted about how I’ve been for years without a TV. And that I didn’t really miss it. That’s still all true, but in the waning moments of my relationship with the TV, I did spend a lot of time watching documentaries while I wrote research papers at my friends’ apartments. The History Channel and the Discovery Channel and I were like this, and being a largely audio-visual learner, I wound up picking up some useful tidbits on occasion.
So I’ve already got a soft spot for documentaries and TV that informs rather than encourages you to tune in and drop out, so to speak. PBS is definitely on my good list regarding quality, informative programing, and I must admit that it blew me away when I saw this short but impressive documentary entitled Off Book: Steampunk, as part of their larger Off Book Series.
Impressive! You can learn more about the series by going here. And you don’t even have to have a TV to do it. 🙂
