After some rather serious posts for the past two days, I’m happy to present some lighter reading this evening.
A friend of mine is getting married next month and is taking an amazing honeymoon through Europe and Morocco. When we talked about what she and her soon to be husband should go visit, it started me thinking about what a Steampunk “should” see when the lady or gentleman travels.
I happened to discover a Google Map pinpointed with some of the world’s most exciting Steampunk sites that a global-trekking Steampunk absolutely most find time to explore.
If you click on the “View Larger Map” link above, it will take you to an expanded view of the map, as well as a short listing on the left side that will tell you what each pinpoint represents. This is a great resource if you are looking for a sight-seeing opportunity within a geographical area.
Personal experience told me to tell my friend to consider visiting the Natural History Museum and The Sherlock Holmes Museum while she was in London, but for those without personal experience, this map does an excellent job of pointing out some fantastic opportunities to experience the influences of Steampunk on a global scale.
It’s about time to consider booking that summer vacation, after all! 😉
